The basics of Remi
Remi is a big, goofy, 6–7-year-old rescue from Georgia. She was estimated to be around 1–2 years old when I brought her home. Her breed is unknown, but what is known is that she’s the best dog I could have asked for and the perfect trail companion.
The ruff early days
Adjusting to home life wasn’t easy for Remi. Hardwood floors and doorways were obstacles to overcome, and training tested both of our patience. There were nights I genuinely questioned whether either of us was capable of getting it right.
The first time she sat on command was a boisterous celebration, quickly followed by an hour-long off-leash chase through the woods (unplanned on my end). During which I dropped and unknowingly lost my phone while trying to catch her.
Remi Today
Today, Remi has grown into a huge personality. From excited air-chomps to her heavy, happy stomps, hiking is one of her defining traits. We’ve tackled more than our share of mountains together, and every hike feels like the first, no matter how recently we were out.
She brings endless energy, curiosity, and joy to the trail, and it shows in every frame she’s in.
The goal
The goal for both of us, is simple: travel and hike. Whether that’s in our backyard of the White Mountains or across the country, living on the road and chasing trails wherever they lead.
With real hiking experience, rugged terrain, and a dog who happens to be incredibly photogenic, we’re building toward making that lifestyle a reality, one trail at a time.
